I am just starting to learn about the boutique Annacat, so I will try and supply you with as much information as I can scrounge up.
Annacat is one of the lesser known British Boutiques, although it has been referred to as "the Biba of The Brompton Road."
In 1965 friends Jane Lyle and Maggie Keswick opened the boutique "Annacat" at 270 Brompton Rd. Kensington.The store sold clothes of their own label along with other designers. It has been rumored that they were the original store to supply prominent designer "Laura Ashley."
Their clothes could often be seen in the British editions of Vogue.
A new Annacat was opened in 1968 on Madison Avenue in New York. Then in the early 70's it was bought as wholesale and failed to keep its success.

It is definitely in my top 5 online vintage sites. Although it doesn't have any Annacat at the moment it is stocked with lots of other labels that were apart of the British Boutique Movement (including Biba and Ossie Clark!)

you don't see all that much biba at the manhattan vintage clothing show which was disappointing. but i saw some fantastic stuff such as original whiting and davis bags for not all that much money.
if you come to new york, you should definitely check out Frock vintage, cherry vintage and olive's very vintage- these are my three favorite stores in the city. they're quite expensive but i love them. there was actually just an article in the paper about frock vintage, which bums me out because now i'm worried everyone will find out about it and it'll become like a mob scene. i LOVE c20 vintage. have you seen the great chunky black and white mod cocktail rings on the website?
yup i bought TONS of stuff at the clothing show it was really cool. there were some fantastic vintage grandma sweaters for fifteen dollars each, plus i got this great bathing suit cover/up pinupstyle dress for twenty bucks and tons of other assorted awesome vintage crap.
